On-Site Engineering Services provided by Lortz is supported by over 75 years of experience.

Steve Stewart - 25 Years of experience in the piping industry, 20 of those years at Pathway Bellows. Steve performs on-site inspections and analysis of piping systems. Steve specializes in the design and analysis of FCC refinery expansion joints and turbine crossover expansion joints. He is extremely efficient with Caesars II Pipe Stress Analysis for piping applications and possesses a BSME degree.
Mike Reber – 22 Years of expansion joint design and applications engineering with Pathway Bellows, followed by two (2) years with K.E. Burgmann. Mike specializes in On-Site discovery and problem solving resolution of piping and ducting system expansion joint applications. Mike is experienced with EJMA, ASME Section VIII Appendix 26 and ANSI B31.3 for expansion joint design. Mike has an Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Vic Moszczynski – 21 Years of expansion joint sales and Project Management with Pathway Bellows followed by seven (7) years as a Technical Manager with KE Burgmann.  Vic possesses extensive experience in project management, having overseen more than 100 projects on FCC, MTBE & Styrene units, including hot and cold clamshell installation.  Vic holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Lortz is experienced in performing stress analysis of piping and ducting systems. Lortz utilizes Coade’s CAESAR II software for pipe stress analysis. 

Our engineering staff has 75 years of experience in analyzing piping and ducting systems for optimum solutions to accommodate thermal movements and all internal and external loads and forces.

Lortz’ engineering objective in performing pipe stress analysis is to develop the optimum solution to the piping system which minimizes the number of expansion joints required (if any are required) and provide the optimum expansion joint design.
